Navigating this site
The site is sub-divided into five main areas; Hand
Tools, Windscreen Tools,
Automotive Tools, Garage Equipment
and Tool Storage. Obviously
there are areas where some products cross over and are applicable
to more than one category, but using the links on the left hand
side will take you to the most relevant areas.
There are also links on the bottom of the pages that will
take you to our Special Offer page,
to our ready-made Tool Kits area
and links to information pages on the site.
Another method of getting around the site is to go to our
Site Map where all pages are listed.
Using the Online Store
Our secure ecommerce online store is typical of many others,
but if you are new to buying goods over the Internet here are
some guidelines, (you may find it easier to print out these instructions
before using the store).
1) Choose a general category to visit from the menu on the
left hand side of the page.
2) Select a sub-category that best suits your enquiries -
click the picture to go to that area.
3) From this page (you are now inside the store) click on
the picture of any product you may be interested in purchasing
for more information and also for a larger picture.
4) If you wish to purchase the product, go to the Quantity
box, type in the number you require and click the Add To Basket
button, (this is the equivalent of going to a supermarket and
putting items into a shopping basket).
5) Continue shopping, adding items to your shopping basket
- or if you do not wish to purchase any more items, click the
Checkout button at the top of the page.
6) At any time you can check to see what you have added to
your shopping basket by clicking the clicking on the View
Basket button at the top of the page. You can also see a
running total of how many items you are purchasing and how much
you are spending in the small window below the Checkout
button.
7) When you have finished shopping, click the Checkout
button for the final list of items and prices. If you wish
to change this i.e. change quantities or remove items simply
click on the View Basket button - here you can make changes
before buying.
8) When you are ready to purchase, after clicking the Checkout
button, fill in your details and click the Continue
button at the bottom right of the page. Please note - the page
you are on is now secure from anyone seeing your personal details.
To check this, look for the padlock symbol at the bottom of your
browser window, this padlock shoud be closed, meaning you are
in a safe, encrypted environment. For more information on security

9) The page you are now on is for details of Shipping/Delivery
and the type of credit card you wish to use. Shipping/Delivery
is FREE but there is a small handling charge of £7.50 on
orders under £20. When you have completed this page click
the Continue button.
10) Enter your credit card details on this page and click
the Continue button. This completes the buying process.
11) You will then be taken to a page with a detailed Invoice
which you can print out for your records. On this Invoice is
your Order Number - you will need to quote this number if you
have any queries at a later date.
Security
Our online eCommerce shop is a totally secure environment
where you can shop safe in the knowledge that no one can view
details of your transactions.
 Fine Tools is dedicated to making sure
your transaction and contact information remain totally private.
Secure socket layer (SSL for short) encryption software is used
when data is sent through the internet, and remains encrypted
so that no one else can see your personal and confidential information.
To see if a page is secure, look at the padlock icon. If it
is closed then any information entered into the page is fully
encrypted.
If the lock is not closed - the page is not secure. (Please
note that, as a customer you will only be entering personal information
in the check-out area of the site).

Privacy
 If you
choose to buy from us, certain information will be transferred
to us with your order, such as name, address and credit card
details. This information will be held securely in accordance
with our internal security policies and will also be handled
in accordance with the terms of the Data Protection Act 1998.
Furthermore we will commit to the following:
1. When you make an order certain information is required
for processing that order. We will only use that information
for the purpose of processing that order and for no other reason
whatsoever
2. Fine Tools will not divulge any information about its customers
to any third party
3. Fine Tools will not send unsolicited e-mail to any of its
customers

Delivery
We aim to despatch all orders within 24 hours. Delivery is
currently restricted to UK mainland only.
We always keep large quantities of stock - however, if an
item of stock on your order is not available you will be informed
by e-mail and given three options:
1. to place the item on "back order"
2. to change your order accordingly
3. an alternative item will be suggested
